The King of the wings refers to Stanley the octopus who was a large part of the Red Wings history in the 90s. A large version of Stanley would descend over the Joe Loius Arena crowd with a Red Wings Jersey on. I felt he deserved a place in my Master Mascot series from Detroit. He rests atop the center building of the Detroit Renaissance building.
